Fly Control

Flies are vexing creatures. How is it that the buzzing beasts seem to know when you are after them? The same fly can flit on an around a table next to you for an hour, but the second you grab something to swat him with, he flies off and can’t be found. Sometimes you can go all day without noticing one fly in your house, but the second you hit the pillow they start buzzing around your head. Besides being a royal pain, flies feed on all sorts of nasty germ-infested foods like rotting meat and garbage. They then come share these germs with you in your home, friendly little creatures that they are. This is why controlling flies is important. Letting flies run rampant in your home is a recipe for disease. Flies live everywhere humans do, except Antarctica. They spread diseases like salmonella, typhoid fever, dysentery and parasitic worms. They congregate in filth and love anything dirty. House flies will usually lay eggs in any decaying matter they may find, such as your garbage can or the family dog’s droppings. The female fly will lay about 100 eggs at a time, which hatch into larvae in only one day. These larvae feed on the substance they were laid in and become adults in between two and four weeks. The air temperature will affect how quickly they develop, with colder temperatures retarding their growth.
